At Bavaria City Racing in Rotterdam, DTM driver Renger van der Zande and Elacin announced their partnership. As a symbol of this partnership, Renger received his first pair of custom-made Elacin Drive earplugs.

The role of sound in racing

“I’m sure it won’t have escaped your notice again today: racing sport is not something you just experience with your eyes, but above all with your ears!” It was during Bavaria City Racing that DTM driver Renger van der Zande announced his new partnership with Elacin, manufacturer of high quality, custom-made earplugs. “This applies to the fans, the pit crew as well as the drivers. What’s more, during a race I need to have perfect contact with my engineers, so an infallible communication system is therefore indispensable.”

Optimal sound experience

Ticket prices for professional racing events like DTM and Formula 1 are high. Yet many visitors don’t get the most out of the amazing experience of watching a race. Joris Wels, director of Elacin: “Anyone who’s been to a MotoGP, DTM or Formula 1 race knows that the sound of the cars is one of the most spectacular aspects of racing. Unfortunately, many people use ‘foam earplugs’ to protect their ears, which deadens the sound of the cars.” Through Renger van der Zande, Elacin is introducing Dutch racing fans to custom-made earplugs which really do justice to the fantastic sound of racing.
